How this is calculated

A best-effort estimate of taxpayer money flowing to the organisations in this database. Governments rarely publish this cleanly, so the figures mix real data with estimates; read each country's badge.

  • United States (real): federal grants and cooperative agreements awarded to these orgs, matched by name on USAspending.gov. A lower bound; name-matching misses some recipients.
  • Canada (real annual*): government funding reported on CRA T3010 returns, projected across the data era for the cumulative.
  • UK, Australia, Ireland (estimated*): no government split is published, so we estimate it as a share of each org's reported revenue.
  • Other countries: their registries publish no financials, so they're shown without a figure and left out of the total.

*Estimated values are rough and for scale only. Converted to USD at fixed reference rates.

About this database

A best-effort, open catalogue of the organisations across the United States, Europe, Australia, and Canada that help asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants, in one way or another.

This database exists to highlight and showcase every organisation doing this work, gathered in one searchable place. Entries are drawn from official public charity and non-profit registries in each country, then reviewed and grouped by the kind of help they provide: asylum and legal aid, refugee resettlement, integration and language support, migrant-worker advocacy, and more.

A note on accuracy

Each organisation here was classified by an automated process, and not every judgement is perfect. Some entries are lower-confidence, where a description was ambiguous, or where an organisation helps immigrants only as part of a broader mission. You can filter by confidence at any time: the Confident view shows only the strongest matches.

Spotted something that doesn't belong?

If you find an organisation that's misclassified, or know of one we've missed, we'd love to hear from you. A contact form will be available here soon. Thank you for your patience in the meantime.

Coverage & limits

A few countries (Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Finland) aren't included yet, because their registries don't offer the bulk open data this project relies on. We're working on adding them.

This database draws only on publicly available registry data, and is provided as-is for reference and discovery.

Accuracy and estimates

This is a best-effort project provided as-is, with no warranty. Organisations are classified by an automated process and may be mislabelled. The funding figures mix real data (US federal awards from USAspending.gov, a name-matched lower bound, and Canadian government funding from CRA filings) with rough estimates for other countries, and are intended only to convey scale. Nothing here is an official or complete register.

Not affiliated

This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any of the organisations listed, nor by any government registry or agency named above.

Privacy

This is a static website with no accounts, no cookies, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. It displays only information that is already published in public registries.
